INDUSTRY

PUBLICATIONS & LECTURES

Unlike most industries, creativity isn’t something that is easily captured in textbooks. Knowledge not shared, is considered knowledge lost in our industry. I’m glad to had news and publishers approaching me for thoughts on creativity and beyond.

On my free time, I also gave lectures for universities and judged award shows. But why? Why bother? As my first mentor once told me “If you like what you learned, don’t bother thanking me, just make sure you pass it down”

A PRIMA DONNA ART DIRECTOR PLAYS ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT!

I had little patience in my art director days to tolerate what I deemed, mediocrity. And the main recipient of this poor temperament is always account management, especially Account Executives.

So after 6 years into my career, I decided to walk a mile in their shoes as an AE. I wrote the entire experience down, Marketing Magazine picked it up, it remained as 2015’s and 2016’s top article.

The 'Slashie Generation' is a widely celebrated phenomenon in China. What caught people's attention is one's ability to wear multiple different hats in a society operating at breakneck speed.

So after 6 years into my career, I decided to walk a mile in their shoes as an AE. I wrote the entire experience down, Marketing Magazine picked it up, it remained as 2015’s and 2016’s top article.

I was named LinkedIn’s China Occupational Expert for Creative Industry of 2019. As part of my interview they ask my opinion on the tech industry’s notorious 9am to 9pm, 6 days a week.

I believe great work can only come when talents are inspired in life, beyond work. The article has been picked up by major news channel like 网易新闻,QQ新闻,搜狐新闻.

REDEFINING WHAT THE WORLD CALL ‘LIMITS’

做广告 , 你玩得起吗?

The creative and tech industry is increasingly a perpetrator of ageism. Adquan, China’s leading trade magazine for creatives decided to speak up. They gathered senior creative leaders around the country (where I’m happy to be invited as the only foreigner) for an interview.

We talked about how we stay young at heart, how we play and where we create an art piece together. The artwork was auctioned, and the proceeds are donated to children whom are under privileged. The documentary interview is released on China’s Children’s Day on June 1st.

JUDGING AWARD SHOWS

Mad Stars is an international award show based in Korea. It is a Marketing / Advertising / Digital content festival that combines creativity with cutting-edge technology.

It is an honor (sprinkled with a healthy dose of jealousy) as I get in a room to debate with creative leaders around the world as a final judge for Diverse Insights / Social & Influencer / Interactive.
